Manager Satellite Technology at Ansaldo STS and DG of Radiolabs Consortium

 

Francesco Rispoli joined Ansaldo STS in 2011 for introducing satellite technologies in the company’s development plans for satellite-based train control systems. Since then is involved into the major initiatives on railways projects in Australia, with ESA, GSA and with RFI on ERSAT. He has coordinated the Satellite working group of the Next Generation Train Control European project with the experts from rail and satellite sectors. He is board’s director of Galileo Services, contributing to the GNSS working group on rail applications. By 2015 has been appointed director general of Radiolabs, the Consortium leading research on geo-localization, telecom and cybersecurity for the vehicles with shareholders Ansaldo STS, Hitachi CBT and three major Universities. From 2005 till 2011 he was with Telespazio as Chief new initiatives and responsible for value-added services. From 1983 to 2005 he was with Alenia Spazio (now Thales Alenia Space) as Vice-president of the multimedia unit and Director general of the EuroSkyWay company. From 1980 to 1983 he worked in Contraves in the antenna laboratory. He is graduated in Electronic engineering (Polytechnic of Turin, 1978) and holds a post-graduate Master in Applied Electromagnetism from University La Sapienza Roma in 1980. In 2012 he was awarded the Finmeccanica Innovation Prize and the Italian Prize of Prize with a GNSS application for trains.
